Written by Edward H. Eldridge, Ph.D., who headed the Department of Secretarial Studies at Simmons College in Boston, this wonderful old textbook offers a glimpse into how students once prepared for professional life.

I've given this forgotten schoolbook a second life, transforming it into a one-of-a-kind handmade journal while preserving its original olive-colored cloth hardcover, classic black lettering, and wonderfully aged educational pages.

The original cover is paired with beautiful copper-colored metal spiral binding, giving this little book a perfect mix of vintage character and modern functionality.

Inside, you'll discover an assortment of colorful blank writing papers in shades of pink, mint green, blue, and other cheerful colors, interspersed with original pages from the book. Vintage vocabulary lessons, pronunciation guides, and charmingly old-fashioned definitions make this journal especially fun to explore.

One of my favorite details is the handwritten name, Charlotte Phillips, preserved on an original page. It's a sweet reminder that this book had a life long before it became a journal.
