Life Is for Living | 1965 Vintage Book Journal | Handmade Upcycled Notebook
Description
A little piece of history, a little inspiration, and a whole new life.
This is one of my absolute favorite journals I've created! There's something so special about the rich chocolate brown cover, beautiful gold lettering, and the simple message, Life Is for Living.
Originally published in 1965, Life Is for Living was written by Eric Butterworth, an influential author and minister known for his writings on personal growth, positive thinking, and spiritual philosophy. His work encouraged readers to look beyond life's limitations and discover their own potential. More than 60 years later, the book's message still feels wonderfully relevant.
This particular copy is a first printing from 1965, and one of my favorite details is the handwritten inscription inside, dated 1967. It's a lovely little reminder that this book had a whole life before finding its way to me.
Rather than allowing this vintage treasure to be forgotten, I've transformed it into a beautiful, functional journal while preserving pieces of its original history.
The original brown hardcover features gold lettering and illustrations, now complemented by gorgeous gold metal binding. Inside, you'll discover a mixture of writing papers, original vintage book pages, and other thoughtfully selected papers. A library card tucked into its own pocket adds another nostalgic touch.
Whether you're journaling, making lists, collecting ideas, or simply writing down the little things that make life wonderful, this one-of-a-kind notebook is ready for its next chapter. It will have our stamped and branding when purchased

Beautifully Imperfect, Just as It Should Be
This journal began as a genuine vintage book, and it shows signs of its age and previous life. Expect natural wear, aged pages, minor marks, and other imperfections that come with a book that's been around since 1965.
The handwritten inscription has intentionally been preserved because I believe these little pieces of history are what make vintage books so special.
Every journal I make is different, and no two will ever be exactly alike.
A Little About Lekish Did It
At Lekish Did It, I rescue forgotten and discarded books and transform them into handmade journals that are both nostalgic and functional. I love preserving the history of these old books while giving them an entirely new purpose.
After all, life really is for living, and every old book deserves another chapter.
